Description
As we examine our world today, many of us experience the “righteous indignation” that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke of. How can we channel that righteous indignation into movements of social change while still cherishing the full humanity of those with whom we interact?
How can we make sure that the commitment to see what is motivating the needs beneath every interaction, no matter how heinous, does not result in passivity and inaction that allows injustice to continue?
Roxy Manning is here to navigate this dilemma with you.
While looking at the areas in which we would like to enact social change, Roxy will guide the exploration into what is needed to create effective change without creating enemies.
As you go through this course, you will:
- Understand what gets in the way of your capacity to show up when faced with solidarity
- Gain clarity on how to show up in service of those who are impacted by injustices in ways that are supportive and welcomed
- Delineate what is necessary to build effective, lasting alliances
- Strategize on ways to connect with those whose actions you oppose
You will walk away with a higher capacity of compassion for different ways of being in the world and new insights into how NVC can contribute to meaningful social change.

Over four days, you will first gain understanding of the principles and consciousness needed to make NVC relevant to people from all groups. Next, you will work on designing a workshop for one group of your choice, utilizing techniques from principle based teaching and graphic facilitation to develop your approach and materials for the workshop. Incredible, hands-on learning awaits!
